Since we launched the DYTTER audible altimeter in 1984, Larsen & Brusgaard has made improvements to the audible altimeter, its function, size and accuracy. Below are examples of our evolution in skydiving. Believe it or not, these products are still being used today by skydivers all over the world. This is a compliment to our engineering, development and quality controls of our products. Let's step back in time...

DYTTER

The original DYTTER™ audible device was way ahead of its time when it came out. Compared to other altitude warning devices available at the time, DYTTER™ was small, sleek and extremely easy to use. Offered in several colors over the years, DYTTER™ was extremely popular around the world with all types of skydivers. Some jumpers are still using their DYTTER™ even today.

DYTTER™ was replaced by the PRO-DYTTER™.

PRO-DYTTER

PRO-DYTTER™: The successor to the longtime standard in skydiving... the Original DYTTER! First released in the spring of 1998, PRO-DYTTER™ became an instant favorite to skydivers around the world and continues to be the top selling audible altimeter. PRO-DYTTER™, with its sleek design, innovative helmet clip, easy-to-read LED display and extremely accurate altitude readings, the PRO-DYTTER™ quickly became and remains to be standard equipment for Freeflyers, Relative Work, Skysurfing, Freestylists, Jumpmasters, Tandem Masters and Students... ALL IN ONE UNIT! (NOTE: Many people are still jumping their PRO-DYTTER™ even today. Another reason that L&B products stand the test of time and skydiving punishment)

PRO-DYTTER™ was replaced by the SOLO™.

SOLO

L&B has completely redesigned the Pro-Dytter™ from the ground up. All new software and design to make the world’s favorite audible altimeter even easier to use with the quality construction and accuracy you have come to expect from L&B. The SOLO™ is even SMALLER than its predecessor the Pro-Dytter™ so it is even more comfortable inside your helmet... you might not even feel that it’s there! You’ll hear it! Developed with all skydiving disciplines in mind, the SOLO™, when combined with our new ALTITRACK™ visual altimeter and data recorder makes a perfect combination for all of your altitude awareness needs.

SOLO™ was replaced by the SOLO II™.

OPTIMA

L&B has listened to skydivers across the globe and has answered the call with OPTIMA™! The OPTIMA™ is a more advanced audible altimeter with extremely accurate altitude detection. The OPTIMA™ introduces a new class of warnings for use by skydivers – Canopy Descent Warnings and Landing Guide Tones. These Canopy Descent Warnings and Landing Guide Tones allow you to preset warning altitudes for use under canopy and, if desired, to provide timing beeps to help you track your landing process versus your altitude during the semi-final stage of your canopy descent. Hail the return of the visual warning light for audible altimeters! L&B has added the ability to increase your altitude awareness by adding a visual LED port to warn you at the altitudes you set.

OPTIMA™ was replaced by the OPTIMA II™.

VISO

The VISO™ comprises three instruments:

1. Digital Altimeter: Stores detailed altitude information about the last jump for later review.
   
2. Digital Speed Meter: Stores detailed speed information about the last jump for later review.
   
3. Jump Counter: Electronic logbook, storing and displaying information about the last 200 jumps.
   

Viso™ was replaced by the VISO II™.
